據澳新食品標準局（FSAMZ）消息，11月9日澳新食品標準局發布通告，批準轉基因棉花GHB811產品用于食品。該轉基因棉花能同時抗兩種農藥，分別為異惡唑草酮、草甘膦。
據了解，本次申請由拜耳作物公司提交。澳新食品標準局經過風險評估認為，在現有數據的基礎之上，將轉基因棉花GHB811產品用于食品，其安全性與普通棉花相當，因此批準其應用。

Food Standards Code （the Code） to include food derived from a new genetically modified （GM） cotton （Gossypium hirsutum） line, GHB811. This cotton line has been genetically modified for dual-herbicide tolerance to glyphosate and isoxaflutole.
The primary objective of FSANZ in developing or varying a food regulatory measure, as stated in section 18 of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991 （FSANZ Act）， is the protection of public health and safety. Accordingly, the safety assessment is a central part of considering an application.
