據歐盟網站消息，11月18日歐盟發布（EU）No1226/2014號委員會條例，批準一項不飽和脂肪酸可降膽固醇的健康聲稱。本法規自發布后第20天起生效。
根據歐盟（EC） No 1924/2006的規定，發布食品健康聲稱需經歐盟委員會批準。本健康聲稱的全稱為“將飲食中的飽和脂肪酸用不飽和脂肪酸代替可降低血液中的膽固醇，高膽固醇是冠心病發病的一個風險因素”。
