據外媒報道，澳大利亞昆士蘭政府日前啟動一項雜草調查研究計劃，研究侵略性雜草對昆州的影響以及探討防止雜草蔓延的管理措施。
據了解，農業和環境委員會已選定3種野草作為研究目標，它們分別為鼠尾草、刺槐以及雜草（Fireweed）。同時他們還對影響農地的其它雜草進行研究。
澳調查委員會副主席Tony Perrett表示，調查的重點在于研究政府的雜草管理計劃的有效性。他表示，身為一個代表兼農場主，明白很多地主正在關注昆州雜草的問題。它不但開始在經濟上影響了盈利也影響了農業產值。啟動的調查將廣泛地探索控制侵略性雜草的方法。

The Agriculture and Environment Committee has nominated three weeds as case studies - Giant Rat's Tail Grass, Prickly Acacia and Fireweed — but will also look at any other plants causing concerns for landholders.
Committee Deputy Chair Tony Perrett said the inquiry would focus heavily on the effectiveness of government weed-control programs.
“Certainly as an elected representative and as a grazier myself I understand the concern of many many landholders right across Queensland that invasive plants are certainly something that's not only starting to have an economic impact on the profitability of properties but certainly on the values as well.
